Efficient Outdoor Cooking with a Titanium Wood Stove

Cooking with a titanium camping stove like the Raiderstove is a straightforward and efficient process that requires minimal gear and fuel. To start, place the stove on a flat, fire-safe surface such as a stone or patch of bare earth, and assemble it by unfolding and locking the panels into place. Gather small dry twigs, pinecones, or hardwood shavings — these natural materials work best as fuel. For ignition, use a cotton pad soaked in wax or petroleum jelly, a firestarter, or even dry birch bark; place it beneath the twigs and light from the bottom to allow proper airflow through the side vents. Once lit, the stove reaches cooking temperature in less than a minute, allowing you to boil 500–600 ml of water in about 5–7 minutes, depending on altitude and wind conditions. The titanium body retains heat well while remaining cool to the touch on the outer edges, and it burns clean with very little smoke if dry fuel is used. A full chamber of twigs typically provides around 10–15 minutes of sustained flame before needing to be refueled, making it ideal for cooking simple meals like soup, rice, noodles, or tea. After cooking, allow the stove to cool naturally before disassembling it, and dispose of the ash responsibly. Lightweight, durable, and fuel-efficient, this stove is perfectly suited for backcountry cooking where carrying gas canisters isn't practical.
